Career Fair

For those of you that attended the Career Fair on February 11th, answer the following questions:

1. What did you enjoy most about the Career Fair?
2. What was the most challenging aspect of the Career Fair?

For those of you that DID NOT attend the Career Fair, answer the following questions?
1. Why did you miss the Career Fair?
2. List at least 3 opportunities that you missed by not attending the Career Fair.

  1. I did not attend the Career Fair because I was feeling under the weather. Three opportunities I missed are networking opportunities, opportunities for possible internships/jobs, and my first opportunity to attend a professional career fair.

  2. Yes, I've attended the career fair. I think it was a good opportunity to see the different jobs and internships that were offered. I also thought it was benefical because i have a job interview next week for the Regionals Bank.

    I enjoyed the fact that everyone was so willing to get to know what you were interested in.

    A challenging aspect for me was getting information from every booth because they didn't have anything for BIS.

  4. I attended the Career Fair and what I enjoyed most about the career fair is that Everybody was willing to talk to reguardless of your classification or gpa.

    The most challenging aspect was deciding which companies to go talk to.

  5. I attended the Career Fair and what i enjoyed most that everybody was willing to shair their information with you and talk to you about their companies.

    The most challenging aspect was getting the fear out of introducing yourself to the companies.

  6. I attended the career fair and was suroprised on how easy it was for me to interact with the employers. I enjoyed the open arms and smiling faces from the recruiters and also all the free stuff they gave me for visiting their table. The most challenging for me was actually geting my resume in their hands and introducing myself to them in a good way that would get them interested in me.

  8. I enjoyed getting the practice and getting to know about all the different service organizations that are here in Nashville. It was difficult for me to have to walk up to all those starngers and sell myself.

  9. I attended the career fair. I liked the fact that it helped me practice talking to employers and that it challenged me to actually put effort into going after a job or internship. I found it most challenging to find an employer that was offerring an internship or job that related to where I want my career to go.

  10. I attended the career fair. One thing I liked about it was that everyone was willing to talk to me; despite the fact that many said the companies wouldn't talk to freshman.

    One thing I didn't like was that there wasn't many banks there (other than Regions).

    because i didnt go i missed out on networking with companies, learning how to market myself , and finding out what companies are looking for.

  12. While attending the career fair I enjoyed the fact we had the opportunity to communicate with people maybe in our careers.
    The most challenging aspect at the career fair was introducing our selves to whom ever we where talking to about the job

  13. 1. Talking to the recruiter from the department of defense. The department of defense had the most internship and career opportunities.

  14. What I enjoyed most about the Career fair was working on my networking skills. And also being very confident in showing my resume. The challenging part is many recruiters were not looking for real estate industry majors.

    2. the most challenging aspect for me was keeping myself comfortable during the interviews. Can't say it worked according to plan!

    3 opportunities I missed was the experience of an actual career fair, the oportunities for jobs,and finding out what companies are looking for

  17. I missed the career fair because i felt that i wasn't presentable, I didnt have a haircut or the proper attier on as well.

    The three oppurtunities that I missed was the chance to possibly land a internship with managment.

    I missed on finding leads and companies to look up for my particular skill of management.

    The experience of my first actual career fair and how it feels and operates.

  18. What I enjoyed most about the career fair was the diversity of the prospect job opportunities that were thier. I also had a chance to network with many diffrent company that expressed interest in my resume. The most challenging aspect was there weren't any companys in the realestate industry.

  22. I missed the career fair because on the way back to school the driver that i rode with had sudden car trouble, and did not get back on campus until after the class period. However the three things that i missed was the opportunity to network, gain information on internships and jobs that would have been beneficial to me, and I missed being able to practice my 30 second elevator pitch, and becoming comfortable in that type of enviroment .

  24. Yes I enjoyed the career fair because I felt a great impact on myself. I enjoyed talking to different people of different professions.The gave me good tips and what the believe I would enjoy. It was nervous at first but I got the hang of it and it was pretty easy.The hardest part was stumbling over my words and preparing myself. Now I feel more confident talking at different internships.

    I enjoyed the fact that everyone company was willing to get to know what you were interested in and getting to know you and who they will be working with.

    By missing the career fair i missed out on Internships.I missed out on possible jobs.I also missed out on helpful resources that can be useful in the future when im about to graduate.

  31. I attended the career and was very intrested in a few of those companies, it was my first carrer fair ever and it was a complete succes in my opinoin I thank all of them folr the opprotunity.
